Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops (Sony PSP) Feature

  • Refining the gameplay of the online multiplayer mode from Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops lets players engage in online skirmishes through the PSP system's wireless infrastructure functionality.
  • Players will be able to use their squadron from the single-player portion of the game as well as recruiting new members and trading with other players, unleashing their distinctive abilities and wreaking havoc across the game's numerous multiplayer levels.
  • Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops also introduces a new "White Flag" system to the game's multiplayer modes, letting players choose to surrender and live to fight again in each round or fight to the death until the next game begins.
  • Placing emphasis on stealth gameplay, the White Flag System further evolves online play for the Metal Gear series and creates a bond between the player and their team as they work together to achieve their objectives.
  • Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops is one great reason to own a PSP.
Snake is back and smaller than ever. But whatever this game lacks in (physical) size it more than makes up for in action. The MGS series translates incredibly well to the portable PSP with a game specifically designed for the system. The developers recognized the need for a great looking game that can be played on the go. The missions are plentiful but they are short and to the point. It can take you a few days of continuous play just to complete the main single-player mode, and when youre done that you can access the various multi-player options. Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops is loaded with streamlined action and a full bevy of features that would make Baskin-Robbins jealous.

ok i'm a fifteen year old girl who first saw this game by watching my older brother play it. i thought the game was absolutely amazing and i wanted more after i watched it. i felt so close to the characters that i felt their pain and other feelings. well a few days after i watched it, i had a sleepover with all my friends. now these are all girls that just think about boys, sports, and makeup. none of them are even interested in video games. earlier in the week i told them about the game and they seemed kind of interested in it. so i showed them the trailer and they wanted to see me play it so i started the game with all of them cramped in my brother's room they immediately got sucked into the game. we pulled an all nighter and played the entire game in one night. 10:30 pm to 6:00 am. all of them stayed up for at least half the game but 6 of the nine people actually stayed up for the entire thing. the other 3 fell asleep just because they were tired. my friends would jump at scary parts and they all felt they were watching a movie. they would guess who the killer was and explain why they thought so. (none of them got it right) they all were so absorbed into the game. they all agreed ethan mars was their favorite character. mine is ethan and norman jayden.
they told me in the morning that they thought the game would be boring but they absolutely LOVED IT!! they said it didn't even feel like a video game!! if this game can entertain a bunch of teenage girls for a WHOLE night it has to be a great game. THANK YOU QUANTIC DREAM FOR MAKING SUCH A GREAT GAME!!

P.S. they all thought it was funny how the characters looked exactly like the voice actors. constantly during the game they said that this would make an amazing movie and i agree. but i dont know how they can make a movie out of a video game that has like 18 endings!

Story
How far will you go to save someone you love? In Heavy Rain each player discovers their own answer to this question as they experience a gripping psychological thriller filled with innumerable twists and turns, where choices and actions can and do result in dramatic consequences. Spanning four days of mystery and suspense, the hunt is on for a murderer known only as the Origami Killer - named after his macabre calling card of leaving behind folded paper shapes at crime scenes. Even more chilling is the fiend's well established pattern of killing his victims four days after abducting them. The public is gripped with fear as the police seem powerless to stop the carnage, and another potential victim — Shaun Mars — has gone missing. Now four characters, each following their own leads and with their own motives, must take part in a desperate attempt to prevent the killer from taking yet another life.

Gameplay
Heavy Rain is a single player, action/adventure game with a particularly strong emphasis on a player-influenced storyline as a means of facilitating the evolution of action towards one of many possible conclusions. The game features four playable characters: a father, a photographer, a FBI agent with a special skill set and a retired cop turned private detective. Each have different paths, means and motives to ending the reign of terror that the Origami Killer has imposed on their city. As players follow the path laid before their character of choice, they are able to explore, interact with and view their surroundings in a variety of ways using their controller's left and right sticks. At crucial times players are given a series of choices relating to how to proceed in various situations, with the outcome of these choices revealing both benefits and consequences. Benefits can be important to progressing through the game, while possible consequences can in turn pose a very real danger to characters, including death. But unlike other games, and because Heavy Rain features four playable characters that exist independently of each other, yet simultaneously within the same the story arc, this does not end the game. Players are instead able to play as one of the other available characters, with appropriate changes to possible outcomes due to the absence of the deceased character(s).

People tend to overlook the effort and detail put into this game - Jorge Alberto Reza -
First off, this is not a perfect game.... (is there a perfect game out there?) It has its share of flaws (slow loading times, huge and slow install etc)
But once you get started, you will not want it to end...

I've played my share of games... I own a Xbox360, a WII and a PS3. I can safely say that this game definitely is a "BUY OPTION" and ranked on my top 5 games list.

I've played the game two times. The first time I used the "Easy setting" and the second time I used the intermediate setting and it blew my mind.... Now you can actually kill the main characters if you are not careful enough.
I guess that you have to play it yourself in order to make your own opinion about it.

Id also like to point out that most people who played it don't consider the plethora of languages the game can be played in:

Being a Native American, with Italian and Mexican mother and father respectively, it was mind blowing to play this game in English, Spanish and Italian.
Its very impressive how the game can be played in any language and the story will be the same. Nothing got lost on the translation.

Thats an added value for those who know another language. =)

P.S. This is the first game I have played that has the right amount of nudity to be a mature game, but not much that it has to be a porn game.
;)

Most Impressive Game I have Played in a Long time - Bryan Di Fatta - Baltimore, Md
Heavy Rain is something so completely different than every other game that I Have ever played. Its an interactive movie. Its not perfect but they an amazing job with trying something different than your typical game. Highly Recommended.

1. Ghost Recon. The face of war has changed. Enemy lines blur, and there is no longer a clear opponent. New enemies and new threats require a new type of warfare - a new type of soldier. Enter the Ghosts. In 2013, the U.S. Army will implement the Integrated Warfighter System (IWS), evolving what we know as the modern soldier. IWS combines advanced weapon systems, satellite communication devices and enhanced survivability into one fully integrated combat system. The IWS program has been developed to meet these new threats head on. Now, it can be tested on the battlefield. Following an insurgence in the heart of Mexico City, the U.S. Army's most elite Special Forces team is deployed to the center of the conflict to regain control of the city. Greatly outnumbered but fully equipped with the IWS, this elite team is the first and last line of defense on the battlefield....2. Splinter Cell: Stealth Action Redefined. You along have the Fifth Freedom: the right to spy, steal, destroy, and assassinate to ensure that American freedoms are protected. If captured, your government will disavow any knowledge of your existence.  Two undercover CIA agents, covertly monitoring the activities of a rogue political faction, vanish suddenly. Fearing the situation may be a precursor to further aggression by the rogue state, a secret NSA sub-agency activates Splinter Cell operative Sam Fisher to infiltrate and investigate....3. Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow. The U.S. installs a temporary military base on East Timor to train the developing defense force of the "world's youngest democracy." Resistance to the U.S. military presence in Southeast Asia is widespread and passionate, but the threat Indonesian militias pose to Timorese democracy is deemed sufficient justification. Anti-U.S. resentment comes to a head under the leadership of guerrilla militia leader Suhadi Sadono, acting with the unofficial support of major corrupt fractions of the Indonesian government.

Xbox 360 250GB Elite Splinter Cell Conviction Bundle

Xbox 360 250GB Elite Splinter Cell Conviction Bundle Review

See more picture

Probably the best console system + bundle Ive purchased. I was considering the new slim model but actually prefer the matte finish (and price) of the older Elite. Im a PC gamer by heart, have owned a PS3 system shortly but could not get used to the controller. I like the 360 controller much better, perfect in my hands. Ive heard many horror stories regarding the Xbox systems. I just finished Splinter Cell Conviction (couple of hours a day, awesome game!) and did not run into any heat or noise issues, the system runs warmish and fan noise is minimal. Im late getting into this generation of consoles but I think this a great time to buy the system because of the huge library of games and recent price drops.

Xbox 360 250GB Elite Splinter Cell Conviction Bundle Feature

  • Hard Drive Capacity: 250GB Hard Drive Capacity
  • Gaming System Compatibility: Xbox 360
  • Bundle Includes: Splinter Cell: Conviction
  • Includes: Ethernet Cable, A/V Adapter Cable, Headset, Wireless Controllers
Get all the details on the biggest Xbox 360 ever in this exclusive Splinter Cell Bundle.

not the Elite - Amazon false advertises this item - Madek Graham - RSM, CA USA
I am giving this one star, not because of the system or game, but due to the description and false advertising by Amazon.

This is not the Elite system. This is the older system with the external HD. I just purchased and received this and it is not the kinect ready, some-what internal HD, new elite system. All systems are compatible with kinects, but the new "real" Elite system has a connector on it for the kinect power supply; the older systems don't have this. The new Elite system also has the 802.11N wireless built into it, this, being the older system, does not. The other features the "real" elite has is extra USB ports for external flash drives, touch sensors, and an optical audio port.

Do not be fooled by this product. The 360 still rocks, but in terms of this product and what Amazon is advertising; it is false.
